Question 2: Do you think that life is all there is, or do you believe in the afterlife

Well hell yeah! Who wants to think we end up just covered with dirt and worms Eewwww!! But seriously. I want to believe there is a place beyond death that our souls go to spend eternity. But, will I be on the stairway to Heaven or off to Hell in a Handbasket. Depends on who you ask LOL. and I am not telling.............

There is no life (as humans define it) after death. We just die. We leave behind fake images of who we wish we were that become part of some future History Channel or HGTV show entitled, "Who haunts these walls?" Of course, our material bodies become compost but the soul is energy and according to the First Law of Thermodynamics, the total energy of the universe remains constant. When we die, our soul's energy intermingles with other souls' energy. Infinity raised to the power of infinity ... chances are there is a little bit of everyone's past soul in everyone's future soul. Think you have a soulmate? Think again, you just might have many. The energy of our soul is around forever and it happily dances in and out of millions of lives not prejudice toward race, religion, genius or species.

I was surprised by Michelle's comments since they sound so absolute. She's usually a bit more relativistic in her thinking. Michelle has influenced me more than perhaps any person I know. Almost cost me a marriage because I would come home saying "Guess what Michelle said today." Because of Michelle, I started a compost pile, learned to pronounce "tao" the right way, started drinking green tea, and was enlightened in something called "tantra." Michelle, to me, is the uberwoman.

Anyway, I read her comments with interest - and found them extremely interesting but very "thou shalt"ish. I agree completely with equating the First Law of Thermodynamics to matter - and find that to be a completely satisfactory answer. However, I have no idea if there is an afterlife. I don't particularly remember the beforelife - before I was conceived - so I'm not sure how I would believe in or know about an afterlife. To say "There is no life after death" is a bit presumptuous. Who knows? Why care?

As Michelle taught me - "Live in the present moment. Don't worry about the beforelife or the afterlife. Just appreciate the now. Be present in this moment."

Michelle taught me the most important lesson of all.

"Breathe."
